The College of International Education (CIE) organised seven academic and cultural exchange study tours this summer.

Over 150 students set off on their learning journeys respectively to the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Denmark, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia and Malaysia to experience different cultures so as to facilitate the development of their critical thinking skills and positive values.

During the tours, students learned how the government turned containers into dormitories for university students in the Netherlands. They also put on display the performance culture that is growing in popularity in Hong Kong by busking on the streets of Denmark.

Students who went to Indonesia learned about the ethos of sustainability at the community level through a range of activities including upcycling of wasted materials.

Meanwhile, students joining the Taiwan tour studied Chinese literature classics and literary translation to experience the unique academic atmosphere of Taiwan.
