The Beijing Normal University-HKBU United International College (UIC) held the inauguration ceremony for its new campus on 9 December.

The new campus of UIC is located on Jintong Road, Tangjiawan, in Zhuhai. It spans a total area of 264,000 square metres, and contains a Library, University Hall, Performance Theatre, Sports Complex, Cultural Creativity Clusters, nine teaching buildings and 14 student residence houses. The teaching facilities account for an area five times larger than that in the old campus, accommodating a total of 6,000 undergraduates, 1,000 academic and administrative staff, and the expanding needs of postgraduate students.

On the same day the UIC Graduate School was also established. In 2016, The Ministry of Education gave its approval for UIC to offer research postgraduate and taught postgraduate programmes in 2016-2017. These programmes are taught in English and HKBU degree certificates are conferred upon graduates. The 2017-2018 courses on offer include Master's and PhD programmes in Probability & Mathematical Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, and Computer Science and Technology.
