The School of Business recently received re-accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) in the UK for another five-year term for its Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Business Management (MScBM) programmes.
The five-year term is the maximum period awarded and recognises the international standard attained by the two world-class programmes.
AMBA accreditation is based on a detailed assessment and benchmarking of programmes against the AMBA standards, covering curriculum design, quality of teaching and learning, and industry connections. The School of Business was praised by the AMBA review panel team for its collegial environment and caring Faculty, who bring the School's mission to life in creating a nurturing environment.
Professor Edward Snape, Dean of the School of Business said: "This award is a significant and impartial endorsement of our longstanding commitment to providing quality business education at the highest global standard. The re-accreditation by AMBA retains our position as the only business school in Hong Kong with accreditation from three main management education accrediting bodies, namely AMBA, the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS), and the US-based Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), a distinction shared by only 1% of leading business schools worldwide. I would like to thank colleagues, students, alumni and friends of the School of Business for their hard work and contribution in winning the re-accreditation."
Dr Raymond Chan, Programme Director of MBA and MScBM programmes said: "The re-accreditation is a remarkable result for several reasons: for potential students, the accreditation provides a credible indicator of international quality on our programmes; for our graduates, it reaffirms the value of the degrees they obtain; and for employers, it gives them confidence to recruit top talent from our School. I would like to express my gratitude to every member who was involved in the rigorous assessment exercise and contributed to the development of the programmes."
Setting the highest global standards for postgraduate business education, AMBA is an independent authority which provides accreditation for general management business programmes, including MBA and master's degrees. It accredits the top 2% of business schools in over 70 countries.
